West Virginia Volleyball Prepares for 50th Anniversary Match Against Arizona

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (8-16, 2-11 Big 12) is set to compete against the Arizona Wildcats on Nov. 17 at the WVU Coliseum. The match, which begins at noon ET, marks a significant occasion as it celebrates the program’s 50-year anniversary and alumni reunion.

To commemorate this milestone, the Mountaineers will welcome alumni onto the court following the second set, highlighting the team’s rich history. Additionally, the first 300 fans attending will receive a commemorative 50th Anniversary cup, courtesy of WVU Medicine.

Fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance through WVUGAME.com or by calling 1-800-WVU GAME. Online tickets are priced at $6 each, with a discount to $5 for groups of 10 or more. Remaining tickets will be available at the door on match day for $10 for adults, $8 for youth and seniors, and $5 for groups. WVU students can attend free with a valid student ID, with tickets available at the Mountaineer Ticket Office, which opens at 11 a.m. on game day.

The match will be broadcast on ESPN+, with commentary by Sam Bailey and Michael Minnich, and live statistics can be accessed via WVUsports.com. This upcoming face-off will be the second meeting between the teams, with Arizona currently leading the series 1-0 after their victory over West Virginia in September 2019.

The Mountaineers are hoping to bounce back from a recent defeat to No. 9 Arizona State, where senior outside hitter Hailey Green led the team with eight kills. Arizona, coached by Charita Stubbs, enters the match with a record of 15-9. For updates, fans can follow @WVUVolleyball on social media.
