The Arizona Diamondbacks have added depth to their roster by signing catcher Aramis Garcia and infielder Connor Kaiser to minor league contracts with invitations to major league spring training. Garcia, a second-round pick by the San Francisco Giants in 2014, has played in parts of five MLB seasons with multiple teams, posting a .211 batting average with 10 home runs and 25 RBIs in 119 games. He spent most of the 2024 season in Triple-A before being called up by the Phillies.
Kaiser, a third-round pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2018, has spent time in various minor league systems and appeared in three games with the Colorado Rockies in 2023. In 2024, he played 90 games with the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes, hitting .221 with six home runs and 21 RBIs. The D-backs signed Kaiser to add infield depth following the departure of Kevin Newman, who signed with the Los Angeles Angels.
These signings come as the Diamondbacks look to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.
