Former Arizona Cardinals Pass Rusher Anticipated to Enter Free Agency

Arizona Cardinals fans were hoping for a big move at the league’s trade deadline, with former edge rusher Haason Reddick at the center of discussions. However, the Cardinals ended up acquiring Baron Browning from the Denver Broncos instead. Reddick, who demanded a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles and landed with the New York Jets, has had a rocky relationship with the team, leading to a near half-season holdout. Despite reporting to the team in October, no deal is imminent between Reddick and the Jets.

Formerly a first-round pick for the Cardinals, Reddick found success with Jets’ current head coach Jonathan Gannon before departing Arizona. With the Cardinals’ pass-rush improving during their recent winning streak, the need for Reddick may not be as pressing as it once was. However, with the team having high projected cap space for next season, a potential reunion with Reddick could still be on the table.

Cardinals head coach Gannon expressed confidence in his team’s progress and the players stepping up in recent games. If Arizona still wants to add a veteran player at the edge rusher position, Reddick could be a viable option in the offseason. With the Cardinals having the second-highest projected cap space in the league, they may have the resources to bring back Reddick if they choose to pursue him next season. Only time will tell if the Cardinals will ultimately choose to reunite with the familiar face of Haason Reddick.
