Elon Musk has donated nearly $75 million to America PAC, a super PAC he created to support former President Donald Trump’s campaign for reelection. Musk, the world’s wealthiest person with a net worth of $241 billion, has become one of the top Republican donors this year. The super PAC focuses on voter turnout efforts in swing states like Pennsylvania, where Musk has made appearances with Trump. Musk’s donations were disclosed in a campaign finance filing, showing he gave $14.95 million in July, $30 million in August, and $30 million in September. He was the sole donor during this period, with earlier donations coming from associates. The super PAC had just under $4 million in cash on hand as of Sept. 30, after spending heavily in the third quarter. Musk has also made smaller donations to other Republican committees this year. Despite speculation about his contributions, Musk has confirmed his support for Trump at a lower level than initially reported by the former president. Few others have given as much money as Musk to Republican or pro-Trump efforts this year, with the exception of megadonor Miriam Adelson who gave $95 million to her own super PAC supporting Trump. Additional filings before the election may reveal more donations from Musk or others.
