A manhunt is currently underway for an armed and dangerous suspect named Joseph A. Couch in connection with a mass shooting that occurred near an Interstate 75 highway in Kentucky. Couch, a former National Guard member, was identified as a suspect after authorities found his silver Toyota SUV near the scene of the shooting, along with an AR-15 believed to be the weapon used. The shooting, described as sniper-like, resulted in five individuals being seriously injured. The victims, all Kentucky residents, are currently being treated at local hospitals. The suspect has a relatively clean record except for a prior charge that was dismissed. Law enforcement officials have urged residents to remain vigilant and are conducting an extensive search in a challenging terrain to capture the suspect, who is believed to still be in the area. Despite finding the rifle used in the shooting, authorities suspect that the suspect might possess other weapons. A large law enforcement presence is engaged in the search, with around 50 to 60 officers initially involved. The investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the shooting, with authorities urging the suspect to surrender peacefully to prevent any further harm.
