The Dallas Cowboys have reached a historic agreement with quarterback Dak Prescott, signing him to a four-year, $240 million contract with $231 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history. The deal comes after a lengthy negotiation as Prescott was entering the final year of his current contract. Prescott, a fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, is heading into his ninth season with the Cowboys, boasting a 73-41 record but only a 2-5 record in the postseason. Last season, he had career highs in completions and touchdowns, leading the team to a 12-5 record before losing in the playoffs. This offseason, Prescott joins receiver CeeDee Lamb in signing new deals with the Cowboys, both now locked in through 2028. The team will open their season against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1.
