200 Missing Children Recovered in Nationwide Operation, Including Several from Arizona

[ad_1]
A six-week national operation, titled Operation We Will Find You 2 (OWWFY2), led by the U.S. Marshals Service, has resulted in the recovery of 200 missing children across the United States, including 49 in Arizona. The operation, which took place between May 20 and June 24, saw the collaboration of law enforcement agencies and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

According to a news release from the Department of Justice, 123 children were rescued from dangerous situations, while 77 others were located and found to be in safe hands. Of the 200 children found, 173 were considered endangered runaways, 25 were otherwise missing, and one was a victim of family abduction.

In Arizona, cities such as Phoenix, Glendale, Goodyear, and Tucson were targeted during the operation. Out of the 49 cases in Arizona, investigators believe that 8 were likely victims of trafficking. The U.S. Marshals Service District of Arizona highlighted a case involving a 16-year-old female who was believed to have been trafficked from Phoenix to Los Angeles, then to Miami, and finally recovered in Michigan.

The success of Operation We Will Find You 2 demonstrates the importance of collaboration among law enforcement agencies in locating and rescuing missing children. The operation also serves as a reminder of the ongoing issue of child trafficking and the need for continued efforts to protect vulnerable children.
