Former Maryland Governor and current U.S. Senate candidate Larry Hogan recently spoke about the economic challenges facing Marylanders in an interview with FOX45 Morning News. Hogan highlighted the significant increase in car registration fees and the overall struggles that families and retirees are facing due to rising costs.
Governor Hogan expressed concerns about Maryland’s economic outlook, pointing out the state’s financial troubles. He criticized the current governor, Wes Moore, for failing to rein in spending in the budget that was funded by federal pandemic aid and is not sustainable moving forward.
In addition to economic issues, Hogan also addressed public safety concerns, particularly regarding the handling of ICE detainers by different jurisdictions. He called for a uniform policy to ensure the safety of communities and criticized jurisdictions that release violent criminals without notifying ICE.
Hogan is currently running for a U.S. Senate seat against Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks. Despite being an underdog in the race, Hogan remains focused on earning voters’ support, even though he acknowledges that his endorsement by former President Donald Trump may have hurt his chances in the heavily Democratic state.
As Hogan continues to campaign and reach out to voters, he remains hopeful that his bipartisan approach and record as governor will resonate with Maryland voters. The Senate race is still many months away, and Hogan is determined to make his case to voters across the state.
