Diamondbacks choose Tommy Henry, bring back Brandon Hughes

[ad_1]
The Arizona Diamondbacks made some roster moves on Sunday, with starting lefty Tommy Henry being optioned to Triple-A Reno after a rough start against the Philadelphia Phillies. Henry allowed six earned runs in just 3.2 innings, resulting in a 12-1 loss. This was his second straight appearance allowing at least five earned runs, bringing his ERA up to 7.04.
In his place, left-hander Brandon Hughes was recalled. This is the third time Hughes has been called up this season, with a 10.13 ERA in nine games. Despite some struggles, Hughes has experience pitching in MLB with the Chicago Cubs in the past two years.
Hughes is expected to join the Diamondbacks’ bullpen as Zac Gallen nears a return to the rotation. Gallen, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, is scheduled to throw a simulated game on Monday.
Despite the recent struggles on the mound, Henry remains optimistic and is continuing to work with the pitching staff to improve his performance. He expressed his determination to perform better in future games and help put his team in a better position to win.
Both pitchers will play crucial roles in the Diamondbacks’ bullpen as they look to bounce back from recent losses and improve their overall performance on the field.
