Arizona PBS and the Center for the Future of Arizona have joined forces to inform voters ahead of the upcoming general election this fall by launching a new educational series called “Voter Ed.” This digital-first series will consist of five episodes hosted by Ted Simons, exploring key civics topics in Arizona. The topics for the segments were determined based on research from the center’s Gallup Arizona Survey, which identified seven shared public values of Arizonans.
General Manager Scott Woelfel expressed pride in the partnership, stating that the series aims to encourage civic action and participation in the democratic process. Additionally, seven issue-focused segments will be included in episodes of “Arizona Horizon,” providing insight into key issues facing the state.
The first episode of “Voter Ed” will be released on June 28, with new episodes coming out on the last Friday of each month. The series will be available on the Arizona PBS website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel.
The Center for the Future of Arizona regularly conducts survey research to listen to the concerns of residents across the state. The seven shared public values identified through this research include education, health and well-being, jobs and economic opportunity, environment, civic engagement, fair systems, and immigration reform. Each of these values will be the focus of an episode of “Arizona Horizon” from July through October.
Through this collaboration, Arizona PBS and the Center for the Future of Arizona aim to provide voters with the information they need to make informed decisions at the polls in the upcoming election.
